He's fighting a no-name Irish pug, but you know what? I'd still like to watch this fight only because Tyson amazes me.

Growing up there wasn't anything more exciting than a Tyson fight. Sure he hasn't been the same since Buster Douglas, but I'm sold.

I think no matter the age or defeats, I'll always have interest in seeing the once human wrecking machine fight. Anything can happen with Tyson's in the ring.

What do you think?

I'm interested only in that Tyson fights are freak shows. You watch for all of the extraneous stuff, not the actual fight. The fact is he can't box anymore and from all accounts I've seen the opponent never could. So you tune in to hear Tyson say something wacky or to watch him kick the guy in the groin. Not enough to take $50 from my wallet.

Tyson is an embarassment these days. I'm assuming people still pay money to watch him "fight" in the same spirit with which they follow the Michael Jackson trial.

Well if you watch it then you care? I didn't ask peeps if they are gonna shell out 50 bucks to watch this. But the reality is, when HBO or Showtime replays this you, me and whoever else followed Tyson will be watching this.

Tyson should wise up and make his press conferences Pay Per View. That's where the action is.

It's tonight on PPV, looks like Showtime is going to be the one re-running it (probably next weekend) not HBO.

Just got back from watching the fight. What an incredibly shitty way to end a boxing match.
The fight was entertaining, though. Tyson fights ALWAYS are. I dont give a fuck if he's fighting some 50 year old nobody in a high school gym, I'll always want to watch Tyson fight. He's one of the most, if not THE most, interesting sports figures in the world. Of all time. And it's just entertaining to watch him do what he does.

I believe Tyson coulda knocked him out if he woulda went 1 or 2 more rounds.

and that arm bar was pretty ridiculous haha

The lion's share of this one, as with the next 4 or 5, were supposed to go to Uncle Sam. He had payments worked out and everything. If he doesn't fight anymore I can't see how he will pay all those back taxes back.

Anyways, in a sport famous for flame outs his might be at the top of the heap.

:ironmike: indeed.

Even though I heard he was winning until the 6th, I'd still LOVE to see this.

Anyway we can upload last night's fight on here? I know it's floating around on the net.

Until Tyson commits himself to get in fighting shape, he might as well quit. He can no longer overpower or outquick people.

does anyone here think tyson's career would've gone differently if he didn't get set up and gone to jail?

or if he never would've hooked up with don king?

the gusy skills were going away around the early 90s, and jail just speed it up.

He was bully, and Buster showed everyone the blueprint to how to beat him.

But tyson 84-90 was as quick, and strong as any boxer i've ever seen.

De matto's death was the end for tyson.

I'm going to agree with this, although I do think if Tyson never went to jail he would have retired on top about probably close to a decade ago.
