I don't think you need samples for this.
It's unreleased 24 Carat Black, download this shit!

Download includes liner notes, also. Pretty thorough.
The cover that they're showing right now is just plain black, so I used that
pic, I believe it's from the liner notes. Yes, my stupid ass paid for the
friggin' mp3s, but I ordered the CD, too.
Just for my T.R.O.Y. heads.

can you re up this please?

Pharoah Sanders - Love In Us All (1974)

1. Love Is Everywhere
2. To John

Quote:
Recorded near the end of Pharoah Sanders' tenure at Impulse, Love in Us All consists of two extended compositions. Together, they serve as an aural representation of the way Sanders' music polarized the jazz world at the time. Like many of his "New Thing" peers, the saxophonist sought the sound world beyond the constraints of conventional harmony. This often translated into music played at the grating, far reaches of his instrument. "To John" finds Sanders in this territory. His solo begins with Coltrane-isms of short motive development before stretching out into a more personal sound. Finding himself engulfed by a rising musical tide, he plays like he's fighting desperately to stay above it. Soon his saxophone takes on a sorrowful tone as if admitting inevitable defeat. With little optimism apparent, it ultimately communicates a sense of emptiness. However, the often one-dimensional criticism of Sanders as an angry, confrontational musician fails to take in the ragged beauty of a work like "Love Is Everywhere." The song offers little explanation as to what the furor was all about. It begins with an exquisite bass vamp that the song builds from. "Love is everywhere" is repeatedly and passionately shouted as the music escalates into a disorienting swirl of sound. Sanders enters midway through with a surprisingly restrained and lyrical solo on soprano. These two songs hardly seem to belong on the same album and are best approached separately. Many of the players who took musical and philosophical inspiration from John Coltrane failed to translate it into resonant works of their own. Sanders' unsuccessful attempt on "To John" falls in this category. Yet, in a way, Coltrane himself never created a work as emotionally direct as "Love Is Everywhere." --Nathan Bush

ahh i thought you meant a whole dilla beat

foudn the og writeup from earfuzz

Quickie today with a blend that hasn't left my playlist for a week now. If you don't know about Darondo by now you must get familiar as a matter of urgency. The original Didn't I is undoubtedly one of the sweetest soul songs I've ever cupped my ear to and is night on perfect in itself. What makes this blend work so well is that the constructor recognises that less is most definitely more in this case and matches the song beautifully with Rene Costy's Scrabble to deliver a slightly faster Darondo perfect for the dancefloor. So simple and yet so good.

I've been asking around about where this originated from but no one seems to want to own up for it. Happy to give credit if someone wants to step up (and a higher quality mp3 wouldn't go amiss either).

http://www.mediafire.com/?eflmndxznm1

it's got that whole vaguely psychadelic deep funk thing going.

ahh, with a little googling it starts to make sense. a single was released on jazzman, that's how i know the name. found some info too

Psychedelic funk is not the first thing that springs to mind when the subject of Caribbean music comes up. With the nearest land mass to Bermuda being North Carolina, perhaps it was the raw funk of Carleen & the Groovers or The Soul Drifters that found its way over the airwaves to infuse itself on the minds of the local musicians? Either way, back in the early ‘70s producer Eddy Demello heard what he remembers as “the hottest group on the hotel circuit. They were way ahead of their time”. He told me he wanted to “try something different and give them a chance”, and so he got the band together and recorded a couple of 45s and a long player. The band obliged and put down ten songs in total, all of them hard and heavy funk pieces and drenched in a loud, psychedelic reverb. The guys were very happy with the result - Demello pressed 3000 copies of the LP, and apart from some which were shipped to a small distributor in Paramus in the US, they were all destined for sale only in Bermuda. However, despite initial sales being bright, few people were interested in buying vinyl records, and so Eddy had to get rid of them, selling them on the street and at church bazaars. He even left some in a box on his doorstep with a “FREE” notice to anybody who wanted one! So with LP sales all at sea, the album was eventually all washed up like lost driftwood on the beach. However, always on the lookout for salvaging lost gems, we at Jazzman spotted the SOS and launched a rescue party – let’s all welcome back The Invaders!

^^^ this shit is slanderous to the idea of carribean/psych funk connectionts though, i need to upload the Dutch Rhythm Steel Band to prove that fucker wrong

i heard of it too years ago but it made me go out and download it.....(not buy unfortunately)

really dope lp
