Love the Jets for welcoming each team's pick to the league via Twitter after every selection is announced.

really though thats a good pick for them. I can't remember a draft that was this crazy.

can anyone explain why the Browns traded up? were there teams trying to trade up for Richardson?

I'm pretty sure the Jets wanted to something to get him. They would've had to offer a fuckload for that pick though, so I don't really understand it since Minnesota was never going to draft Trent.

So far Melvin Ingram is the pick of the draft.

I've never been high on Blackmon. Going to Jacksonville doesn't help his cause at all.

Have no idea why the Bucs traded down to grab Barron at 7 when they could've had Claibone at 5.

A Fitz/Floyd combo is going to be insane if Kolb can be an average QB.

Jets fans, do you remember Vernon Gholston? Congrats, you just drafted the bigger version of him.

^^ i can't disagree with the pick, i'm happy, but i'm really scared that the bolts will try to use him as just an edge guy. if you watch him play, his most explosive plays came when lining up against guards and using his phenomenal spin move. most interior lineman just weren't ready for it, but the upper tier tackle prospects he went against last year had the ability to make him disappear for long stretches of the game. if they treat him like a von miller/clay matthews type he's going to be pedestrian, if they treat him like a woodley/harrison type he's going to beast on teams. the guy has great feet and can kill it with the leverage game.

great article here on Luck and RGIII and the way QB development is changing. I especially like the play diagrams and break downs-

i still dont like this prime time format. 4 hours to just stick the tip in is wack, i know its about selling the product and milking every last penny, but its worse than doing back to back phila auction draft (timewise)

its almost worthless and deliberate waste of time as the NFL player top 100

That stuff at the start about getting to qb under 3 seconds is fun to watch, but doesn't mean much to me unless I know what other D lineman can do.

Dwight and other Giants fans, what'd you think?

I am going to go under the philosophy of "In Reese, I trust" because the guy does no wrong. One of my friends, who is a Jets fan, was telling me about how an RB shouldn't be drafted in the first round and I was arguing that unless they are a no brainer stud, they should be. I also said this before the draft: "You know how you hold Jerry Reese in high regard because of his scouting ability? Watch him draft a RB at the end of the first round." Lo and behold, they did. I'm not a huge fan of this pick but I am willing to believe that Coughlin, Reese, and the Giants team leaders will develop him into a player.

I would've much rather went with Jonathan Martin, Cordy Glenn, or Coby Fleener though.

Not the Jenkins I was hoping the Niners might reach for, tho he might not have deserved a 1st rd grade AJ is definitely talented, 4.39 speed good hands. I'm imaging him as..."If Ginn could catch."

I'd rather have Janoris Jenkins, Jerel Worthy, or Coby Fleener.

in reese, we trust.

this pick smells of JPP, not just because of the backflips. (if you haven't seen it, dude did 20 backflips in one video and like 13 without hands in another)

seems like a kid who is super athletic and really hardworking, I think he'll be excellent.

Also watched some interviews and he seems like a really bright kid and overall great guy, pure throwback, classy gentleman type dude.

seen people saying that the giants might want to move up to get andre branch in the second round, and with kiwi just getting an extension that would pretty much guarantee that osi won't be back.

Really? Why? He is 28 and Browns aren't winning now anyway.

the age thing is a bit mitigated because he hasnt been taking hits since he was 12 and the guy can throw the fucking football. his backshoulder fade is ridiculously sick. some say its the weedon-blackmon combo but the back shoulder combine drill was fucking pretty throwing to a wr group that was basically slapped together. also i think there is something to be said for a guy who has played pro sports already and knows how to grind and how to handle it.

i wanted weedon for the seahawks before they snatched up flynn and made that a pipe dream

edit: but dont get me wrong, if they dont get a quality wr (something holmgren has had problems with at seattle and now cleveland) they are basically gonna be capped

is age really an issue? tannehill probably won't even start until he hits 28. Weedon looks like he is ready to play and be good right away.

remember kurt warner?

I don't anything about Tennehill honestly, just don't see how getting a 28 year old QB for a team with no WRs and who is rebuilding could be good.

And Warner also had a team full of weapons with Faulk, Isaac Bruce, and Torry Holt.

Yes its huge. In genreal QB peak in the NFL at 28. So bascially you have a guy at his physical peak but with out the years of NFL experience. By the time he gets the experience he will be on the downside of his phsyical skills. Sure if he plays like Warner he is a steal but Warner is a top 5ish guy of the last 15 years.

More importantly though Warner was a guy off the street when the Rams got him not a 1st round pick. That 1st round pick could have been used on a guy with much more upside. Besides who exactly was going to draft Weedon before the 4th round? Teams with either young or established guys are not going to get a backup guy before the 4th. And he is too old for a project guy you reach for. It just does not leave too many teams that would think of drafting him.

Also this. If Weinke was 24 or younger going into the draft he is probably the 1st pick in the draft. Coaches would have allowed him to have a bit more leash knowing he has a long term future. Instead because of his age it was use him now and if he can't produce lose him.
