The Sue Award - intuition
I don't know what this award is? apparently for like a year and a half now i've been mistaking intuition for that queer re evolution? his music is still horrendous, but he's nowhere near as much of a homo as re evolution is...

JUST ME & MY BREAKS

Link: http://www.zshare.net/download/5228701437c98c19/

Records are an addiction. The feeling you get when you drop the needle on an absolutely face melting drum break, the state of euphoria just hearing something you've never heard before is better to me than anything on this earth. It doesn't have to be expensive or rare (as you can hear in the mix) to be sickening. The scrunched up who farted face you get as you just hear something so ill, that's the ONLY emotion you feel. It's a feeling of pure euphoria. There is no feeling like it. It's better than any drug in the world. Records are drugs. This mix is just a compilation of songs put together in a melting pot of rock, funk, soul, and hip hop. Inspired by the likes of the Conmen, Ken Sport & Fusion, Kon and Amir, Soulman, and the inventor of the internet version of the sample mix.. my homey Jigsaw. I won't post a track list but i'm not a stone wall.. if you want to know the name of something played just ask. I may or may not answer.. Enjoy

It's Porno Tuesdee'

This weeks Porno Tuesdee' pick...

Sasha Gray

Grey attended Highlands High in North Highlands, California where she held a 3.8 grade average but was later home schooled. Her restless upbringing drew her to adopt an interest in the arts ranging from books, music, acting, writing and experimental performance art, primarily theater, in which she first started at the age of 12 in 2000. In 2003 she joined the Actors Theater of Sacramento and took an acting class (taught by writer/actor Anthony D'Juan) which further inspired her newfound talents. In 2005, while still in high school she landed a role in the experimental (unreleased) film Love Thieves. She graduated high school a year early and, rather than attending her graduation ceremony, she appeared in yet another unreleased experimental film named Unknown Pleasures (Grey also co-wrote and produced the film). While making her rounds in the world of experimental film she bussed tables and attended college, all while researching the adult industry.

In May of 2006 Grey moved to Los Angeles and started her career in adult films just after turning 18. Her first scene was an orgy with Rocco Siffredi for The Fashionistas 2 by John Stagliano. It has been reported she "shocked" her fellow performer by requesting to be punched in the stomach during fellatio. Though Grey does not deny saying this, she emphasizes the request was "an exercise in improvisational fantasy." This resonates to what Grey once wrote in regards to herself as a person and as an artist: "I wanted to express my sexuality as a strong woman, to push my own boundaries and see which part of my psyche would take me to my next euphoric sexual experience." Nearly six months after entering the adult industry Grey was featured in the November 2006 edition of Los Angeles where she was flagged as a potential major star, perhaps the next Jenna Jameson, making her one of the fastest rising stars in adult film history.

In December 2006 she interviewed on the syndicated entertainment industry news show The Insider. In February 2007 Grey appeared on The Tyra Banks Show to participate in the topic of teenagers in the sex industry. She later claimed through her own blog and YouTube that the televised interview represented her poorly and the show's staff changed her clothing and hairstyle to make her appear younger, which became the target of criticism by Tyra Banks for Grey's choice to go into adult film. On the show, Banks expressed her theory that there had to be a "reason" related to abuse that caused Grey to make the choice of pornography despite Grey's insistence that entering the adult industry was a calculated career choice. Banks described Grey's disposition as "...cold, distant and hard," although she thanked Grey for attending the show. In an interview Grey stated: "Despite the controversy that surrounds this industry, I felt I could ultimately bring an enigmatic quality to it. I decided that if my instinct continued to push me toward the reality of this, and the dissatisfaction with my education continued, I would seize the opportunity on my own."

Less than a year after entering the industry (January 2007) Grey was the recipient of awards for Best Three Way Sex Scene and Best Group Scene at the prestigious AVN adult movie awards. The following May she was also presented with the Best New Starlet award by the X Rated Critics Organization. She was named Pet of The Month for July 2007 (the spread is considered to be a radical change for the magazine as it was photographed by fashion photographer Terry Richardson) and also appeared in a 2008 re-print of Terryworld. Among other collaborations with Richardson she was also appeared in Wives, Wheels, Weapons (a companion book to James Frey’s Bright Shiny Morning).

Grey is featured as part of the art work for The Smashing Pumpkins 2007 album Zeitgeist,[9] and appears in their 2008 video "Superchrist". In 2007 she starred in (and suggested the title for) the movie Broken ,directed by Dave Navarro (Jane's Addiction). Grey was also featured in the music video for the song "Birthday Girl", by the Roots and has modeled for American Apparel and Richard Kern for Vice (magazine) Anti-fashion spread and appeared in a three part VBS program, "Shot by Kern". Grey contributed vocals to Lee "Scratch" Perry's 2008 album Repentance (2008 album), on the track "Pum Pum." Her appeal has reached many spectrums including the fine art world, as she has modeled for artists James Jean and David Choe, while also inspiring French artist Frédéric Poincelet for countless sketches in his ongoing work with Frederic Magazine, in addition to a two page spread with the renound Liberation magazine in France She is featured in the series PG Porn by James Gunn (filmmaker) (Slither), as well as a cameo role in Dick Rude's independent film Quit which demonstrates Grey's work outside of pornography, and stars in the upcoming Canadian low-budget black comedy/horror film Smash Cut from the Ottawa based Odessa/Zed Filmworks, where she plays a TV news personality who goes undercover as an actress in a horror film only to discover the killer of her older sister.

In 2008 she became the youngest person to win the AVN Female Performer of the Year award.

In October 2008, it was reported that Steven Soderbergh has cast her as the lead actress for his upcoming film entitled The Girlfriend Experience. (stolen from wikipedia because honestly.. who really cares?) But I CAN say that Sasha is a goer.. she takes it in the fartbox like a good girl should...

Fuckin rappers...

I was just listening to the new Joe Budden "single" and it REALLY bugged me. This is the same guy who dropped a 10 minute diatribe trashing the industry and overall wackness. We all enjoyed it and after hearing this dreck it just makes me wonder. Does Budden have a true friend left in this world? WHERE are the people of conscious around him? There is no way in HELL they would have let em go out like this. Even the staff at Amalgam can't co sign this. Theres no way. Listen to songs like All of Me and see how prolific and passionate he sounds. I hate to single out Joey on this, but i'm tired of rappers.

The "game" for lack of a better term is WIDE open. There is nothing but bullshit being pumped into every fascet of rap music. Myspace, Youtube, the Mixtape "circuit", major & indie alike and everyone seems to be starving for something that shows passion, something that shows effort, and we're just not getting it. Do people REALLY want to hear another Royce the 5'9'' cd? I am not a Royce fan but it's unfair to single him out as well, cause i'm not liking many new rappers either. It's too extreme. You're either a hip hop avenger keeping that "real" shit alive for the europeans and people who lack rhythm all over the world or you're stoning jesus to death in every verse whilst throw a pipe bomb at the capital building. There's no healthy medium for rap music. You're either one or the other and the people choose sides. Take your pick. Do you want some fanny pack bike messenger sloppy headphone wearing Marco Polo Torae fan who only listens to that intelligent hip hop? Do you want the antisocial, suburban virgin who wears combat boots, studies the anarchist cookbook, and only listens to rap with that Slayer influence? What about the high brow boutique fashion wearing self proclaimed cool kids crowd? Fuck all of these people. The term get in where you fit in has lost all meaning because fitting into any of these aforementioned groups makes you that much more of a loser than the people who are in the other groups.

I only listen to rap music that I deem is genuine. Theres no guidelines, no prejudice or racial bias it is soley based on experience and life. If you don't have a story to tell, if you don't have something relevant to add to the already overflowing pot of filth that is rap music.. then put the mic down. NO ONE wants to listen these internet phenom would never be anywhere without myspace cats complain in rap form about not being famous. These high profile indie stiffs have contributed nothing but want everything. WE USED TO CIPHER WITH MOS DEF OUTSIDE OF FAT BEATS! yeah then he dropped Black Star and changed his phone number... no one cares. The good old days are gone.. Boom Bap rap is history.. and the people who didn't change and adapt are getting plucked off one by one, which would be fantastic if their replacements weren't ten times worse. They sit and point the finger at people they think they're better than instead of perfecting their craft. I hope every bitter and disenfranchised flash in the pan one 12" wonders end up unemployed and homeless... at least then they'd have something to rap about..

What up people it's been too long, but i've been too busy with real life to be blogging as much as i'd like to but trust i'm back like I never left.

The forum has been bubbling over with faggotry lately. The race war is still in effect with idiots like conspiracy posing the question "do white people deserve to share with us this rap culture?" Now I didn't read much of the post, but seeing people answer it honestly with thought provoking information just bugged me. Conspiracy you're WACK. That's why you're going nowhere. It isn't white people holding you back. It's your overall lack of style, charisma, beats, rhymes, and flow that are holding you back. White people ruined EVERYTHING, hip hop included. White people are the reason there's an "alternative rap" section in chain stores, white people are the reason 2 pac is immortalized while Scott LaRock is forgotten.

HOWEVER I will not sit idle and watch the thinly veiled complaints of some hack rapper trying to hide under that same umbrella. To make things worse this guy is CANADIAN.. which makes him wayyyy more detrimental to the state of the culture than ANY white person anywhere outside of France. The French white kids are the worst. They all try and imitate Mobb Deep and other queensbridge aficionado's. Rapping about le guns and le drugs and the beats sound like something right out of a suburb that's close to queensbridge that houses those Danny Hoch-like kids who tell everyone they're from queensbridge type shit. France is wack plain and simple.

Random blather
-I still haven't seen the dark knight or tropic thunder yet

-Alchemist has 2 beats on the new Jadakiss cd.. He also has 2 beats on AWAR's new cd. watch the hate mount uppppppp!

-I'm using Northwestern in my NCAA 2009 dynasty.. and they stink like ass

-Big Trouble in Little China is on demand... Fuckin incredible movie

-The Phillies WILL surpass the Mets...it's true

-Why is Breakin 2 Electric Boogaloo on Showtime every day now?

-Rodney Dangerfield was the man

-Wheres that Saigon album?

-The NFL season starts today.. Eagles = 19 - 0

-I copped the Buck Rogers ost on wax the other day..

-Is anyone else tired of hearing Dj Premier waste beats on these indie stiffs? Torae? Skyzoo? Reks? really? Where the FUCK is M.O.P. at? Freddie Foxxx? Blaq Poet? I'd even settle for Guru right now.. These new wave indie rap "stars" are all the same clone of each other with the lets save hip hop neo culture type cats. There's no flavor to be found in any of this music except for Premier who is still beasting after all these years.

-Why does every single rapper make beats now? Some of the worst producers are very talented mc's. J Live may be the worst producer i've ever heard and one of the most talented rappers i've ever heard. Find a medium.. the beats are not hittin in any way shape or form. I don't want to sit and trash J Live, he is an incredible rapper, his lp had Premier, Pete Rock, Spinna, Large Professor, Prince Paul, and yet The Best Part rarely gets mentioned. Could it be the lack of flavor in EVERYTHING since?

-Madlib is finally making beats again, and I couldn't be happier. The Beat Konducta 5 was the first album i've ever paid for to download. That shit is INCREDIBLE and the Madvillain remix is WAY doper than the original.. Here are some fine Madlib productions.. Enjoy

-Sacrifice Off Beat Konducta 5

Where I'm From

OK people.. it's been a while, trust me i've been busy.

I've been on the proverbial grind as of late, I participated in the Philadelphia Red Bull Big Tune battle. Check the preview video below

It was an ill night, I lost in the semi finals, but I definitely left my mark, I beat illmind in the 2nd round only to have em get back in the battle as the 4th finalist in the semi finals and he still won the whole thing haha. The format goes from 12 producers to 6. In the round of 6 the 3 losers take the stage and the by crowd response the best of the 3 losers becomes the 4th finalist in a 2nd chance type deal, and of course illmind got back in. He beasted the semi finals and finals and won.

Now on to more pressing matters. The race debate on Philaflava is starting to bubble over and is all too familiar. White people suck, black people suck.. it is what it is. Who cares? I hate the keep it real types like can u more than anyone soley based on race. This rap shits my passion mannnnnn yeah IS IT.. no one cares. Just do what you do for yourself and any benefits or accolades earned is strictly a bonus. Okwerdz is a perfect example.. You all shit on em and discredit em, but wheres your gold plaque at? wheres your tour at? Unless you're on the same level as him you can't really say shit. Plain and simple.. you keep keepin it real enjoy your day jobs.

Gloss gets a free pass cause he doesn't rap, he doesn't make beats, he isn't a dj, or anything. Paragraph president you will be a failure forever. You're the worst rapper black or white and to have so many opinions when you can't do what Okwerdz does, is by definition the bitter taste of defeat courtesy of nothing more than a critic. You're garbage. drop dead.

There are too many failed rappers, dj's, and producers who have too many opinions. It's just a shame the people closest to them in life don't let them know, like dude. you SUCK.. give it up. It's too easy to make rap music these days, i've been saying it for years. If you're passionate about the music, then put something into it. Focus on the quality of the final product. Stop doing these bedroom cd's over other peoples beats and parading that out under the guise of a "mixtape" or "street album". The end result of this is ME being the hater, ME being the asshole, and ME being the one who has to inform the people of philaflava that 9/10 people who post in the sound lab are stiffs and will never go anywhere with this rap shit. Call it abrasive.. whatever the truth comes down hard sometimes. This is also by no way, shape, or form saying i'm better than anyone else, but I never cared what people thought of my music. I just present it as is... if you like it dope, if not that's ok too, to quote the man Frank Sinatra.. at the end of the day.. no one cares.
