Chino XL

Is Chino XL thinking with that poor attempt to cross-over with Snoop Dogg on the hook, "Don't Run From Me?" http://www.sendspace.com/file/f96s5k

Chino XL is one of those rappers that should be lucky people still know his name after his very inconsistent career. He is a guy who is basically known for either bashing 2Pac, collaborating with Ras Kass on "Riiiot" or his Wake-Up Show freestyles.

Really, what has he done to keep himself in the game 12+ years? His "major label" albums since Rick Rubin invested in him have been trash.

His new material is produced by Miami's own Cool & Dre, we call them the Neptunes light. Even Dre is trying to emulate a Pharrell like career with his amazing wordplay. But that's another blog.

Chino, get out of Miami. You're becoming the Jose Canseco of hip-hop dunny.

Don't believe me, see "Juggernaut."

The Roots will have the best produced album in '06.

I feel if Royce 5'9 could do an entire album with DJ Premier it may just rank up there with your favorite Gang Starr album. See "Boom," "My Friend," and most recently "Ding."

"In This" by Oh No featuring Murs is a rele dope track, actually one of the best on the LP. But I have a feeling Murs is an album away from making music that none of his original fans will like/accept. He's taking that Ras Kass turn for the worst--I feel it in the force.

Nobody should be able to use the lines of "Nicholas Cage and Face/Off" again in a rhyme. Enough is enough. See Ras Kass "K.O.T.W." for the most current use.

I feel if AZ could do an entire album with DJ Premier it may just be better than any Nas album, minus "Illmatic." See "The Come Up," "New York" and most recently "The Format."

Rick Ross is NOT better than Young Jeezy, but by the end of summer his album might be.

I feel if Jay-Z came out of retirement and did an entire album with Timbaland it would be his best to date.

David Banner is severely underrated. If he had production that appealed to the masses (see DJ Shadow' -"Seeing Thangs"), he could be as big anyone out right now.

Personally, I don't care who Common works on his albums on future albums (production wise). He just bores me after 5 minutes of listening. He hasn't sounded hungry since "One Day It'll All Make Sense" and he'll never make another album like "Resurrection."

It's time to hang it up fellas..
KRS-ONE, Aceyalone, everyone in BCC (minus Heltah Skeltah), High & Mighty, Skillz, Esoteric, everyone in Non-Phixion (minus Ill Bill), RJD2, Rasco, Public Enemy, LL Cool J, Dilated Peoples, everyone in The LOX (minus Kiss) & Ice Cube.

It's time to get realistic peoples...
Apathy, Defari, Vakill, Tame One & El Da Sensei's solo careers, Planet Asia & The Fugees.

Hip-Hop needs albums from the following...
T3, Saigon, Joe Budden, Ras Kass, Trife Da God, Heltah Skeltah & Freeway.

DJ Premier did
NOT
fall off. The rappers he works with did.

It's the trickle down theory. Those rappers are uninspired and unmotivated so what do you expect from DJ Premier?

There is a reason he is working with Christina Aggy and it ain't just because he wants to get paid. Okay, well some of it has to do with money but let's not go placing Christopher Martin in some Section 8 housing complex. He does quite alright with his various performances, Sirius Satillite, endless production and royalities.

Everytime a new single drops that he produced, immediately people say "he's back!" No, he didn't leave. Hip-Hop as a whole sucks. Rappers are boring and the best are either on hiatus or retired.

I will say not every beat is a "10." I'm sure there has been times he's given a few beats away and decided to hand over a less than steller jawn to compensate for the loss of money.

But in recent years he's done amazing work with Big Daddy Kane, Devin The Dude, Freddie Foxx, J-Live, Mos Def, Non Phixion, NYG'z Z & Xzibit.

So I ask you where did he exactly fall off?

This man is possibly the greatest producer of all-time. He's definitely #1 on my list and probably within the top 3 on most knowledgeable hip-hop heads.

The game changed. The music changed and money changed. But if DJ Premier could work with the following on a full-length album, then we should never hear the doubters again. Hip-Hop would be amazing and we all could sleep at night.

6 careers DJ Premier can easily restore and 1 reason we can still dream...

1. KRS-ONE

2. Nas

3. O.C.

4. Rakim

5. Royce 5'9
